Conference Paper: Beyond Connectivity: Setting the Scene

I gave this conference paper to open the SAMENA conference in Istanbul in 2013.

This was an important moment for SAMENA, the Middle East's telecommunications industry council. The conference needed urgently to address the transition from connectivity-only services to understanding and managing the threats and opportunities presented by Facebook and other fast-growing social media platforms.
